Flashback to 70 years ago: Bill is disgusted with the savageness of his and Lorena's actions, and threatens to stake himself if she doesn't release him. She does so. Forward to present: Lorena comes to Bill at the vampire hotel and holds him hostage. Bill is astonished when she says Eric is the one who summoned her to control him.

Detective Andy Bellfleur following a pig into the woods, comes upon an orgy ruled over by Mary Ann. The naked people's eyes are black and blank--they have lost their will. He fires his gun just as Mary Ann puts on the bull's head and is ready to knife Sam Merlott. Terry breaks Andy's arm and Sam flees. Sam, pursued by Mary Ann, runs for his life and changes into an owl and escapes.

When Andy confronts the townspeople at Merlott's the next day hollering about demons and devil worshipers, he is laughed at. (Poor Andy, the only one who has an idea of what's going on, and he is scorned as having alcoholic delusions.)
Sookie and Hugo are locked in the church basement, when Hugo confesses to the preacher who they are and that they're looking for Godric. Sookie realizes Hugo is the turncoat who betrayed them. As soon as the preacher learns Jason is Sookie's brother, he thinks Jason has been a spy in his church.

Jason and Sara have sex in the church and she chirpily tells him "We have to tell my husband!" Jason knows the preacher will kill him if they confess, so he runs away, but is caught by the preacher who tells his goon to kill Jason--for being a spy-=he doesn't know anything about the sex with his wife. Jason runs and runs. It is dark and a jeep comes along and Sara gets out, and she shoots Jason square in the chest.

Hoyt, the nicest guy from Bon Temps is with Jessica at the vamp hotel. She wakes to find rose petals around the room and red candles burning and Hoyt says "They're supposed to smell like blood, but they smell like soup to me!" He confesses he is a 28 year old virgin, and Jessica is a virgin too. "Just because I'm a vampire doesn't mean I'm a slut," she says. They decide to be each other's first. (This couple is so winsome and sweet and likeable.)

Lafayette is back to his spunky self, selling "V" and doing his makeup in the ladies bathroom. He meets Eggs, Tara's boyfriend and Tara says "Your name is Benedict, I don't know why they didn't nickname you "Ben." Lafayette says "Or Dict."

Sam finds Daphne at the lake and has a gun. He has figured the scratches on her back had something to do with Mary Ann making her an acolyte. He asks "What is she?" Daphne says she's always existed. Some called her Isis, or Lillith, or satan, or Dionysius. Sam leaves. Mary Ann shows up with Eggs, his eyes all blank and black and he knifes Daphne through the heart.

It ends with the goon beating up Hugo and trying to rape Sookie. She's screaming, when suddenly a vampire appears and holds off the goon. Sookie looks up to the mute vamp and asks "Godric?"
