I wrote a long detailed review of this episode then the computer gremlins ate it, which is just as well. This was a bizzaro episode, and not one I want to watch again. Usually there's some bits of humor in TrueBlood, but this one was a downer.
In one scene, Bill Compton, Sookie's lover, and
the vampire everyone has become fond of is shown in an ugly light. Lorena, the vampiress who "made" him has a flashback to 70 years ago when she and Bill were at a Prohibition party and she seduced a couple who took she and Bill home with them.
Lorena makes the man watch as Bill ravages the mans wife, then snaps his neck. Bill tears the neck of the woman, then on the blood soaked bed, he and Lorena have sex as the woman is dying. Then Bill tears a necklace off the woman's neck and gives it to Lorena. Very nasty stuff.
Then Sam Merlott is betrayed by Daphne, the shapeshifter with whom he's fallen in love. Daphne is actually an acolyte of Mary Ann. She leads him to an orgy where Mary Ann has the orgyist under a spell. She gets her evil energy from the sexual acts and their bestial behavior. She puts on a bulls head, mutters an incantation and takes a knife as Sam is held down.
Lafayette has a post traumatic stress spell after Pam, Eric's consort, arrives with a vial of blood and tells him Eric wants him to start selling "V" again. Lafayette is comforted by Terry, the veteran with PTSD.
Jason and Sara have sex in the church--the same church where Sookie and a man have gone to infiltrate the organization--but the preacher knows she is a telepath. Sookie realizes the church is holding Godric in the basement. She and her companion are restrained and taken to the basement as Sookie screams and fights to get away.
I'm wondering how the writer's are keeping all the balls in the air (ha) and if they've bitten off more than they can chew (haha.) This was the worst episode ever.
