I bought a landline phone from Wallymart--the last one was zapped by lightning. There were exactly two models to choose from--because where I live during power blackouts cordless phones and cell phones don't work--ergo I keep one landline phone.
Simple, you'd think, to plug up a da*n phone, right? Noooo. First off, this phone came with a 60! SIXTY! page instruction booklet.
And since I have a dial up computer, there's wires dangling out from that. Then I bought a tape recording device to tape calls (like from contractors and repairmen, who will argue you down "I said this" when I know they said something else. I thought I'd be neat to be able to say "well, I've got you on tape buddy!") There's all kinds of wires dangling from that too, because it's supposed to be hooked to the phone.
That's asking a lot from one phone jack, so the recorder is still not plugged up. Right now I'm taking a break to see if I have the computer line hooked up right. But I'm surrounded by wires everywhere. It's a major mess, and I'm electronically ignorant. Wha! Moan! Help!
