Redfaced

Wellsir, this is for ladies only. You menfolk may not realize that women as they age and their hormones change, can grow hair on their faces, upper lip and chinny chin chin. Mostly the facial hair is colorless and not Abe Lincoln looking, but it's there and women notice.

It's a constant battle to pluck eyebrows and other spots to keep hair at bay, but what's a girl to do? I have yet to find anyone to answer "Why did the Creator or nature or whatever see fit to make the hair on your head fall out, while underarm hair will resprout in one day." You can't get rid of underarm hair, it's shave shave shave.

So I saw some Nair on the shelf at Wallymart that specified it's for "delicate bikini areas." I thought well if it's mild enough to go there, I'll try it on upper lip and other parts of face like around chin--which a friend said is something only I notice--(that's what's bad about looking at your face in a magnifying mirror.)

So yesterday I slathered Nair on and six minutes later, washed it off and after removing it, every place it touched
was burning and turned red and I got a chemical peel. So now I'm stuck in the house until the redness abates, because it looks like I got sandpapered. So girls, don't try this at home, and if you see a lady out in public with with a red face, it may not be from sunburn or embarrassment, it may be because she sandpapered herself in an experiment with Nair!

Hi fredo; the skin is about all peeled off now, so I ventured out and nobody noticed, Haha!

Sue, try aloe vera on it. It is magic and wallmart has it if you don't have a plant.

jeri; Thanks; aloe vera from wallymart is now on my shopping list!

I just worry about someday I'll get sick and won't be able to keep up with it. Maybe I'll be so out of it I won't care. What about a camping trip? Nah. Not likely I'm going camping any time soon.

Hi kit; I used to have my sister's promise to pluck me if I got incapacitated, but haven't heard from her in years so that's out! Like you said, maybe I'll be so gaga I won't care or notice! PS I'd rather be snakebit than go camping--yech, yuck..

Same thing happened to me. I have four pairs of tweezers in various bathrooms. Just be careful that you never do what I did here: https://my.mybloggers.com/nittineedles/summer_vacation_2.html

Should this be reported to the Nair company?or is says on the package.
I went through a lot of hormones in my years.Oh!all right. What did you expect me to say. Also people will think that you are blushing?no?
comment by fredo on June 12, 2010 3:58 PM ()
Hey (Mr. hormone man) fredo; there wasn't a warning on the package not to use it on the face, but for dimbulbs like me, maybe they should put on a warning label!
I'm not going out till the skin all flakes off.

Sigh--same here; that's what I get for thinking Nair was a shortcut!

Bless your heart! I bet it's sensitive to touch. I have never tried it and don't believe I will since you warned me. I have the same problem so I will just keep plucking. Thanks for the info.

Hi peach; And this was even worse--soap and water burned, putting lotion on it burned really bad, washed that off, more burning. Well, it was an experience I won't repeat..
