The snake
Has a place
It's place
Is on it's belly
Head first
In snaky grace
Slithering over rocks
And holes
And through the grass
Tounge flicking
Eyes unblinking--
Let it pass!
It's appearance
You know
Will fright ya
And if you fright it
It'll bite ya.
Why did God
Make snakes?
Was it a mistake?
Because it seems
Just the one
Of its ilk
Would have
Been enough
But He wasn't done
Admiring his handiwork
So He made a plethora
Of its kind
And if we
Don't agree
Well,
Nobody asked
You and me.
