Heat, and Messy Minds

We're baking under 102 degree temperatures down here, but yesterday I went out anyway. The only way to stay cool is to leave your hair damp after a bath, so out I went. I wanted to go the monthly yard sales held first Saturday every month on the grassy field at the county seat. I'm always looking for picture frames for my watercolors.

One vendor seems to have bought inventory from a motel chain--there were motel lamps and pictures--those bland landscapey prints screwed to the walls of motel rooms etc. But I did find in her vast array three frames--then I got to thinking--uh--what if there's bedbugs in the frames? So I'll stick the frames out in the sunshine in this 100 degree heat for solar sterilization--I hope.

There were people selling fresh vegetables, so I bought snap beans, cukes and blueberries--although I might as well take Ex-Lax as eat blueberries--zoom, down the tubes fast.

Then home to go through the mail and shred stuff etc. I like to keep my office neat and not let things pile up. Suze Orman the financial guru told a viewer who was questioning her finance's spending habits, to look at his car his apartment and his office. If they were messy and disorganized, it's the sign of a messy mind, of not paying attention to details. I believe that. My best friend is horrible at managing money, and her house and car are a mess.

Anyway, hunkering down in my cabin until tomorrow. Bye

No telling what my light bill is gonna be because the air conditioners are running full blast!

It's in the 80s here, as summer is gaining a foothold, but we've had a few humid days in the 90s so far, which wilt me in about a minute unless the fans are blowing full blast. Occasionally there are motel/hotel art sales here, too, coupled with new mass-produced paintings which aren't worth much. But good frames are hard to find and can be expensive. So glad you found some you can use. I'm so eager for fresh blueberry season here in Northwest Ohio. Won't be long now!

Hi marta; I always stop at yard sales to look for frames, but rarely get out of the car--the vendors will bring over any frames I point out, because if I get out of the car, I'll see this or that and before you know it, I've bought a bunch of knick knacks. Like a couple of weeks ago, I bought a coconut shell with a face carved on it. That's bad heh?

Cleanliness and order are important to me but it does require good
large storage facilities.

Hi jeri; If I had a storage shed, in two days it'd be full of stuff. It seems as much room as a person has, that's how much stuff they'll accumulate to put in it.
PS my friend has a shed on her property and two rental storage units, but she still has a house crammed to the gills with stuff!

Blueberries have antioxidants in them and are very good for you, so don't let a little zoom deter you. On his own when I met him, Ed's apartment was cluttered, ditto his car, and his office was a part of his bedroom. I married him anyway. He is good with numbers and knows how to negotiate, something I am not good at. I now pay the bills and keep good records, but I rely on Ed to tell me how much we have in the bank when it's time to write checks.

Hi teal; I wonder what Einstein's desk and office looked like. Maybe people who are neat and clean are just obsessive compulsive, but I still wonder about folks who have a messy car and house.

Last night I dreamed I had an office job and my desk wasn't too messy with paperwork, but I had a lot of interesting knick-knacks on my work desk that I'd brought from home and I was boxing them up.
