Deep South News

From a headline in the Greene County Herald: 84 YEAR OLD WOMAN CHARGED AS BOOTLEGGER.  Rosetta _____ was arrested and taken into custody on charges of illegal distribution of alcoholic beverages. Officers disacovered and confiscated a sizeable stash of illegal alcoholic beverages, along with $1,600 in cash. Rosetta admited being involved in this activity for several years as a means to supplement her limited income. (Well bless her heart--a woman's gotta do what she's gotta do!)
On Wednesday "Dick Cheney's sock puppet" George Bush tore himself away from China to make his fourteenth and final post- Katrina visit to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. His visit barely merited a blip in the local media. He's still in his own dazed little world; no one expects anything but disaster from him anymore.
Tropical storm Fay has weaved and wobbled back and forth over Florida dumping heavy rains; now there's three scenarios for her path before she mercifully dies out. One is that she will wobble toward New Orleans, another is that she'll weave up toward Meridian, and the third possibility is that heavy rains and strong winds will move up through Hattiesburg.
I'm doing all the laundry and making sure there are batteries in everything--all it takes is a poof of wind and the lights go out here.
Bye y'all, susil

I heard that Bush and his wife was flying over
the south when he said to hie wife, " Why don't
don't we throw some dollar bills out and make some
people happy". His wife said, "Why don't you throw yourself
out and make everyone happy."

I worry when I read some news item about Bush planning to implement something or make some change: it's not going to be worth doing because it comes from him and it will take years to fix these bad decisions.

The rain is messing up my routines but that's okay. Glug. Why on earth does GWB think his presence anywhere is needed for anything at all? Including at home. Including on Earth. He has a serious self-image problem: he think he exists.

Thanks for the weather update. The last weather track for the storm looked like it was heading straight for you. Glad you are prepared. This storm has dumped some crazy amounts of rain. Take best care!

We've been getting rain here too. Which we need badly. You be careful getting out if it's nasty.

I'm in Jackson.... the wind isn't too bad and the rain has been a steady drizzle since yesterday. Nice temp. Take CAre.
