Wow, been gone for a while--I unplugged Methuselah one afternoon when storms and lightning were coming in, and got busy and just logged on again today.
Hope everyone had a nice T'giving; I made the stupid mistake of thinking I'd cook T'giving dinner for myself instead of accepting a couple of invites to dine with others, or going out to eat at one of the places open in Hattiesburg.
So I cooked and braised and baked and wore myself out. Then a friend brought over plates of turkey and dressing and veggies and desserts--and it all tasted better than mine! Note to self: Next year accept an invitation and be done with it.

A few days ago on Highway 98 saw a bicycle built for two being pedaled by a man and a woman. There was a teeny trailer on the back of the bicycle holding a plastic storage bin. A little American and a British flag waved on the back end.
Later I saw in the paper that the couple are pedaling across the US for some cause or another, and are on their way to Florida. To see such a flimsy thing as a bicycle on a major highway makes me flinch; if they were struck by any kind of vehicle--say an 18 wheeler--or anything else, they'd be nothing but mybloggers spots on the road, but okay, whatever floats your boat.
Outrageously dangerous--but the couple, on that cold windy day wore bike shorts and short sleeves and waved as I waved and honked "hello." But--But--even the slowest vehicles could pass them, and I'm wondering how they can stay upright in the backwash of air from passing vehicles. Even in wanting to do good for their cause, gee, couldn't they do it in a Volvo or something a little sturdier?
