Amerya

Well, America has gotten sucked into another war--and war is the correct terminology, no matter what the U.N. or anybody else calls it.
This military action in Libya is sanctioned by the United Nations and right away, it's the U.S. who jumps into the fray--and mind you--it will wind up being the United States who will sooner than later, be the one who is providing the manpower, the funding, the firepower in this civil war.

I am appalled. Trillions more dollars will bleed out of our economy to support another war, and you know why? The U. S. and other countries are salivating at the prospect of getting their hands on Libya's crude oil. Libya has what it called "sweet crude" the finest quality of oil on Earth, and whomever winds up occupying Libya will get their hands on it.

Or so they think. So what if America spends trillions more in this military action, and is successful in being top dog--I doubt the Ghadafi rebels will want the U.S. to take over and give orders. No, Once Ghadafi is out, the Muslim rebels will kick the Americans and anyone else who helped them, to the curb.

What is wrong with American leaders? Are they willing to make war on any nation whose assets they covet?
Meanwhile back at home, domestic spending is slashed to the bone, prices for goods and services are higher than ever, and infrastructure like roads and bridges are rusting with age and disrepair. But what does that matter when you can jump into another war? Wars in the Middle East are un-winnable. I suggest Washington move itself to Libya, call itself AmerYa and leave the U.S. to be a satellite possession.

Since we're never ever going to leave the Middle East, at least moving our governing headquarters to Libya will make it easier for the president and Congress and the other yahoo's to declare war without having to bother to run it by the average American citizen. As if they did now. Idiots all of them!

And who can we vote for that will not be led down the primrose path by the
military?

Hi jeri; Obviously there is no one in the political landscape with any common sense. We're doomed.

I agree with you. I saw that headline the other day, something about now we're bombing Libya (or whatever it is) and I said Well nobody asked me if that's what I wanted our country to be doing. So I've just sort of checked out on the current news. Call me an ostrich.

Turning off the news is something I'm gonna do-but I do get the paper and reckon I'll see the headlines there.

well sure how to comment this.I know this is wrong. We should not be fighting another war.Something is drastic wrong.
Prices on goods, food and gas etc.are going way up.
What are they thinking there? These are supposed to be our leader to lead us.
Guess not.I am now having second thoughts on the Prez.think that he will not be around the next time.I voted for this man.As he said that he will
stop the war .Guess not.Your right. We are going to be stuck there in Libya.
Do we need to save everybody? What about me and you and the rest here in our country of the USA.
Had enough on Bamba.

Hi fredo, I voted for Obama and am disappointed in his leadership so far. Pretty soon one of those insane people like Gadhafi or the leader of North Korea etc. are gonna nuke the hell out of us and leave a pile of smoking ruins. The US is hated for sticking its nose in other countries business, and we do have a lot to answer for.

I actually think France and Britain have been leading the way, but enforcing the No-Fly Zone in Libya could well prove to be a slippery slope for all involved, especially when dealing with a lunatic like Ghadafi. And it may have come too late to help the rebels. But I hope not.

Hi marta; I heard on the radio yesterday afternoon that 16 Tomahawk missles had already been deployed (as of yesterday) at one million dollars each--and the fighter plane that went down and destroyed cost 25 million, so we're already into this war for 41 million dollars-won't take long to add up to billion. Do you think any other country is gonna put out that kind of expensive artillery? Nope, it'll all be up to the USA.
