While I was at class last night, Dolly helped Kitty with her math homework. Based on tests at the beginning of the school year, she's doing 5th grade math, though 4th grade for other subjects. Dolly had me check the math homework when I came home. She didn't get it quite right, so Kitty had to redo some of it this evening. I hope this doesn't become a habit, because it's going to be too much homework and confusing for her if she has to redo it. We already knew that I'm going to be helping her with chemistry and physics later, but thought we would share the homework helping until then. Math was not Dolly's best subject.
On the subject of the kid. At school they are having a potluck event tomorrow. It's also sort of a talent show, because the kids can do dancing. The idea is that the dances represent different cultures around the world. There are Tongan and other Pacific islanders who do Polynesian dances, there has been Irish dance, etc. This year she wanted to participate and do belly dance with another girl. She likes belly dancing. Don't know why. It's not our culture. She and the other girl have been practicing for a few weeks and Dolly made their costumes, besides the coined, noise-making scarves. They will do well.
Guess what? The house next is still a patched up, eye sore.
the belly dancing sounds neat!
