Ever since we bought our new cell phones, which was months ago, I have wondered about the keypad backlight feature. The there a setting for how long the keypad backlight stays on. I have it on "always". To me that means always, as in, it should always be on when flipped open, but it doesn't. It turns off once I place a call. Because it's winter and dark and dreary much of the time, when I'm finished with the call, I have to grope around trying to find the "end" key in the dark. In speakerphone mode, the phone doesn't hang up if the flip is closed, only when the "end" key is pressed. The backlight is useful.
While the girls were roaming the pet store yesterday, I dropped into the cell phone store and asked. After explaining what setting I was trying adjust several times, the last guy asked, "Why would you want it on? The phone is by your ear." I explained the situation and the need for speakerphone, but he said, "That's the way it works". Thanks.
Ugh. I'll have to check that on the next phone.
