One Last Training Hike
... before the biggest hike of my life!
I'll apologize in advance for any grammatical errors, feeling really worn down from fighting a cold and today I get to be as Kristy would put it, admin bitch.
but I digress ...
If I can stifle this summer cold, which I feel like I'm winning the battle, I will do my last hike before the Grand Canyon on Sunday morning. My chiropractor assigned me a hike to do that will be the most challenging and most like the canyon conditions in the Los Angeles area. I posted that I was doing a hike and a girl I haven't seen in years volunteered as it was near her home:
"had my 10th treatment for AT this morning and on Doctor's orders must hike this weekend. My assignment: a northern LA trail, 5 miles RT, narrow and steep single trail, watching out for rattlers. Would love some company if anyone's up for a challenge."
I don't think I sold it short. I hope she knows what she is getting into. It's gonna be tough. But I'm looking forward to it!!!
I'm at 11 days and counting till I hike down the North Rim (on Sassee's birthday *wink).
I have stocked up, finally found one of my white linen shirts that should help deflect the heat at the bottom and the cold at the top, bought a new 3L hydration pack to put in my backpack, and trained to the best of my ability while overcoming an injury. I feel ready!
