Random Weekend Thoughts
TBD flew back to LA on Friday morning after an emotionally draining week and a half involving his grandmother's death. He called and offered to take me out for lunch. I didn't want to go back to work after he dropped me off as I wasn't sure when the next time I would see him.
We were supposed to hang out Saturday evening but his rescued puppy went AWOL. When he was going over things with Dave, this week's dog sitter, and showed him how to walk Ben, the puppy had jumped the 5 foot brick wall and found them on the street. He jumped again when Dave was saying good-bye in the front yard.
This was the final straw and TBD has decided to kennel the puppy and give him up for adoption upon his return from Burning Man. Having spent a week myself with the peeing pup, I cannot blame him. This pup needs more attention than any one person can give him. He's a very happy dog but needs more discipline and obedience training. While I'm not a fan of the pup, I am happy that TBD is going to make sure the pup gets a good home.
TBD told me on the phone that life has been dealing him a lot of stress from being unemployed for nearly two months, to his grandmother's death, to a large and unruly puppy. He told me that I'm one of the only bright lights in his life.
I burst into a spontaneous, "Awe'hhhhhh." I told him to have a great time this week and that I hoped things get better when he returns from his much deserved vacation.
I myself have gotten my much wanted quiet weekend. I went shopping yesterday for $12 jeans at Old Navy during their one day sale and purchased a couple discount slacks. My wardrobe needed a few more essentials that fit my new sleek physique.
Today I attended two spin classes with a half hour break in between. One of my two favorite spin instructors is giving up her LA classes and staying in New York. Next weekend is her last two classes in LA for some time... so I know what I'm doing again next Sunday. I was going to do the Nike Human Race 10K here in LA but didn't sign up in time.
But I will be continuing to run for fun. It took some time but now I actually enjoy running. I can't do long distances and prefer 2-3 miles tops in a day.
Anyway, it's been a lovely weekend and the caper is dinner out with friends tonight at a local pizza joint. After taking two spin classes today, some pizza sounds divine.

I am glad you got to spend time with him though...
