Tiny Bubbles ...

bubbles, who would have thought about having one in your eye? Well two weeks ago, on the 18th the eye doc did his thing. He removed scar tissue, and re-attached my retina using a laser. A small gas bubble was put in my eye to help keep the retina in place till it could start to heal. It would go away in a few weeks.
on my latest checkup, he said the retina was separating again, because there was still some scar tissue he couldn't get to the first time.
SOOOOOO, Monday at noon I will be going back in for the whole thing again. This time he will be going in through the lens of the eye, just like if they were doing Cataract surgery. The lens will be removed, and while he is in the neighborhood he will be removing the cataracts that have been forming. He will then go after the scar tissue again, re-attach the retina, put in a new lens and close the whole thing up again. This time he may put another bubble in, but it may not be a gas bubble, this time it might be a oil bubble. The difference is the oil bubble won't block the vision, and will do a better job of holding the retina up in place. The down side is, in six months I have to have another operation to remove the oil bubble.
So I will check in Tuesday or wends day to let everyone know whats going on, till then Cindy Loo Hoo and Paulie Walnuts will be running the Diner. Thanks for the card Cindy, but Jester said he looks nothing like that bear!
