So What's New?

Tomorrow is my visit to my eye doctor, where I expect one of two things to happen.

1. He will look at my eye, and say the scar tissue has stopped forming or slowed down forming, and to come back in two weeks or so,,,,

or

2. The scar tissue is continuing to grow, and you need another operation and I want to do it Monday.

I am hoping for number 1 myself, because the vision in the left eye although not good, has been improving. The last operation he had to remove the lens to access the scar tissue, and he left the lens out because he has to go back in eventually to remove the oil bubble in my eye.

The image above shows pretty much what I had, only my retina detached from the top and dropped down and blocked the vision. I do have scar tissue on the bottom of my eye like this image, and what will happen is the fluid in the eye will get between the retina and the eye, and pull the retina down.

During my first operation, they removed the scar tissue, (or most of it) and installed a scleral buckle that is basically a rubber band around my eye to help hold the retina against the eye. I will leave it up to your imagination as to how they got the buckle on the eye!

So I will post something Thursday to let you know what is going to happen next.

Pulling for you, Bob! A rubberband around your eye!! Amazing what doctors can do these days. And he left the lens out? How can you see anything with no lens? Are you keeping it in the freezer at the diner until Doc is ready to pop it back in?
