Easter Sunday, we went to eat at the most unique restaurant. It's called "The Melting Pot" where everything is dipped into a special fondue with the exception of the salad course.
The server prepares the sauces right at the table, telling the patrons each ingredient she is adding.
The first course was vegetable appetizers and breaded chunks for which we had our choice of two different unbelievably delicious cheese sauces in our fondue pots.
That was followed by the salad entrees; then came the meat tray. It contained steak chunks, chicken pieces, shrimp, another fish selection, and specially prepared ravioli. All these were raw. They had to be placed in the sauce for a period of three to five minutes on our fondue forks. One sauce contained red wine and a number of other herbs. I can't even recall what the other had.
All I can tell you is that they were a treat to the palate.  The final course was the dessert. We chose banana foster and a chocolate flaming sauce. For dipping, we had strawberries, bananas, pound cake chunks, and some other goodies.
We all agreed  the appetizers and the dessert courses were our two favorites, although we scarfed down every course. Amazingly, none of us felt over-stuffed when we finished.
We had a party of eight, so there was enough time between courses to let some of the food settle. The only problem is that with that many people, it took us a full three hours to go through all the courses.
But everyone agreed it was a really fun experience, and the kids voted that we make it an Easter tradition.
One word of caution: It's expensive but the food is so good it's worth it for a special occasion. Besides, I wasn't paying!!!
