Tea Party Spokesman Calls NAACP Racist!

Tea Party Express spokesman Mark Williams fired an unexpected response to a challenge from CNN contributor Roland Martin.

Asked to tell racists "you're not welcome" in the tea party, Williams replied, "Racists have their own movement. It's called the NAACP."

The exchange came on Wednesday's edition of CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." A day earlier, the NAACP passed a resolution condemning the tea party for tolerating racism.

Williams wasn't alone in defending the tea party, as Sarah Palin took to the airwaves on Fox News to discuss the situation with Sean Hannity. While Palin is often a polarizing figure, Williams managed to outflank her in nine words.

Thanks, Jeri. My son-in-law actually made the statement to me that he thought the tea party movement was good for politics. Needless to say, I had a few choice comments back to him about that.

the tea party movement bodes ill for our country. unfortunatly, they speak to many issues(immigration, gub'ment spending, etc) that most Americans are concerned about. kinda reminds me of a small, loud political party back a long time ago who spoke built up popular support and and soon took over their nation with disasterous results. We know them best as the Nazis. I'm all for freedom of expression and third party movements are fine but the gub'ment needs to get some balls and deal with the problems mentioned lest the people get sick up and fed and elect something worse.

yer good third party candidate

The whole neo conservative far right movement is so similar to the Nazi movement that it is frightening. All they lack is a leader. That is what think is hilarious about their calling Democrats Nazis and portraying Obama as Hitler. We're the good guys, but they are too dumb to see it.

Don't think she's overly thrilled about that. However, Bristol has signed to do public speaking to talk about teen pregnancy and teen abstinance at $30,000 to $40,000 a pop, so maybe she'll be the family breadwinner.
