A Progress Report ...

In spite of the paint being the wrong color and the idiot painters putting water-based rather than oil-based painting on the trim they were contracted to paint and having to strip it off and start over, I am actually beginning to hold out hope that we may really be finished by June 30.
(Their job was to paint the entryway, the stairway, the office, and the dining room).  We're doing the rest of the painting.

We have two bathrooms totally stripped and the other about half finished.  Holly put the texture on one yesterday; she will do the other today while I work to finish stripping the last bathroom.
Bevan and Taylor, meanwhile, have painted the media and the guest bedroom; they still have the playroom, the girls' two bedrooms, and the two baths upstairs to paint.  But they are taped off and ready to have the paint sprayed on, which goes really fast.
(We may roll the paint on the bathrooms....that's still being debated.)  Then we have to paint the doors and the trim.  Hopefully, the walls will be finished by tomorrow.  Then the kids, Holly(after work) and I will paint the trim and the doors while Bevan gets the cabinets, the living room, and the master bath downstairs ready to paint.

We hope to have the upstairs painted by today or tomorrow at the latest.  We can paint the trim in the media room, the guest bath, and the guest bedroom right now.  We just need a few more hands; but we will get it all done, even though we may have to work 12-hour days.
Their house is going to look brand new when we finish!!!

I enjoy painting--did it for many summers. But----I don't enjoy painting my own house! Don't know why. Eager to see the finished product.

So are we!

We should paint too but I don't see us doing it. Very impressed with your diligence. When we got our new roof after Charley, neighbors helped us paint the rest of the house to match. Ed said I think maybe we'll keep the green (that it was) and I said, "Not and live." It is now a very pale teal (of course).

Interesting you should mention that. I was just thinking this morning that I needed to take my camera over and do some before and after pictures. Look for them soon.

It is a huge project; but we are working hard. Hopefully, we'll get it done before they have to move.

All my life I was told to buy a house--I rented--have never worried about painting, renters, roofs, etc., etc. And what's the difference if the money goes to the landlord or the government (property taxes, appraisals, water, etc.,)--all I have to do is lift the phone to get anything fixed!

There is that great tax write off for interest; but the government would love to take that away too if they thought they could get away with it. Renting does have its advantages.
