Just Got the Best News!

Holly's star keeps rising so rapidly I can hardly keep up.   Yesterday, she was a divisional vice-president in the Waco legal division of her company; as of today, she is the lead general counsel for several divisions all under the direction of the Group office for her company,  which is headquartered in Rockwall, Texas, a suburb just east of downtown Dallas.
This is such exciting news, because they can now move back to Dallas and back into their home, which they have been leasing for the past two years.
The kids will be able to go back to their school where all their friends are; they will be closer to Oklahoma, and I will now be moving to Dallas instead of Waco.
This is what she hoped for all along--to get back to Dallas; but she never dreamed she would be offered the lead general counsel position.  No more traveling on commercial airlines; it's all corporate jet from now on.
We are all so thrilled.  Sometimes, things actually do work out even better than we hoped.

It really is! This takes a lot of pressure off me and it's a major step up the corporate ladder for Holly.

Very impressive!! Proud Mama and rightly so. I'm sure you were a great influence, though you don't give yourself credit. Way to go!

Oh, what the heck! She owes it all to me!! Seriously, the only thing her dad and I did was instill in her at a very young age a love of knowledge and the importance of getting and appreciating what a good education can do for you. She learned the lessons, applied them to her life, and it has paid big dividends for her.

I'll take a little of the credit, but she did this all on her own. I am proud of her, though.

Just made my day! I have really been worrying about moving to Waco so far away from my mother and brother. This is so much better, and I love Dallas. Of course, I am so happy for Holly and her family as well.

That is wonderful, Joan. I know you must be so proud of her.
Dallas is much better than Waco.

The kid continually amazes me. I asked her once how she manages to get all these promotions. "Because I'm good!" she replied. I just laughed and said, "Oh! really!" To me, she's still just my baby girl with mud on her face peering at me over her glasses.
