It's a Done Deal!

Here's my new home in the Dallas area!  I signed the lease yesterday and I will be moving in on October 15th.  I am so excited.  It is a new complex for Seniors 55 and up that has only recently opened.  I will be moving into a brand new unit that has never been occupied.
But here's the best news of all!!  It is in a very secure and safe area only five miles from Holly and Bevan.  It took three trips to Dallas and a LOT
of searching online and in person to find just the right place in the right location at the right price.

Here are some photos:

It is called the Amaranth after some ancient fortress in Europe and it reminds one of a fortress in exterior design and planning.   All the doors open inward, all the amenities are under one roof, it is gated, the windows and French doors are protected by rails and all the exterior doors must be opened with a special device that only the tenants have.

The front entrance.  My unit is on the first floor to the far left of the main entry to the complex.

A closer view

This is the kitchen in the units

The living and dining area, except that I have French doors where this unit has a window.

The clubhouse

The library and book exchange room for vociferous readers like me.

Game and arts and crafts room.

The pool area that includes a jacuzzi and outdoor fireplace, which is visible to the far left.

There's also a theater room where movies are shown twice a week, a full dining area for meals three times a day for those who don't want to cook, a full beauty salon, and probably some other things I have forgotten.

Here's an excerpt from one of the websites about it:

Thank you, Jeri. I am looking forward to it now that I have finally signed a lease and made the commitment. Half the stress was in trying to find the right place that was within my budget.

So happy for you. The place looks great and you have lots of extras. (And you don't have to cook if you don't want to. )

So am I, Marg. Things are finally beginning to fall into place. It is so stressful looking for a place to live.

Joan, that is just wonderful. What a relief for you to have found such a lovely and safe place to live, and the best part is that it is a done deal!

I feel so lucky to have found just the perfect place. This is the second load off my mind this week. Jim getting into a secure and safe place while he takes his treatments was the first.
