Why not go see this? Do you have an hour to read my reasons? It's not just this movie, it's any movie (just about--I still like "Pleasantville".). Some day, I'll blog about my anti-movie attitude. For now, let's just say it's not my thing.
Will probably see the movie when it comes on TV (not aggressively in pursuit of first run films here). It looks really good.
See my reply to Marta about reading the book first.
I have the book on hold but it is wildly popular and it will be awhile before I get a copy.
There are some issues with the film, which many say caramelizes this period in the ugly Jim Crow era in Mississippi and the south. But understanding that, I am open to seeing it. The ahead-of-her-time protagonist Skeeter and the terrific black female actors are wonderful in the trailer. Perhaps I should read the book first though. Have you read the book?
Judging by this, the movie is as good as the book.
There's not a chance in you know where that I would go see this movie.
The best thing about the movie--aside from the acting--is that pie!!! Did you read the book? If so you know what I am talking about!
