Well. I did it. Filled an application for TJ's in our neighborhood.
Originally, hubs came home w/it so he could work on weekends. It suddenly dawned on me to apply instead!
The great thing about TJs is that you can get benefits (dental, vision, and medical) insurance plus 401k matching if you work part-time consecutively for 3 mos.
Over the years, having met quite a few of the cashiers, I've learned that most of them were students (all ages) or handling a second job.
TJs has a great infrastructure where anyone has an opportunity to climb to a captain's level (mgmt). We know of 4 young adults who started on the bottom rung, but who are now managers in different TJs in SoCal.
So there you have it. I may soon be wearing a Hawaiian tshirt! For those of you who don't know, it's part of their 'uniform'.
