Wednesday Again

?Where has the week gone?  I have felt so very good all week and been so busy - even replaced my sister's hand held shower for her.  Did I tell you I was also a plumber?
One morning just as my husband got all lathered up in the shower, I decided to replace something in the kitchen.  Forgot to turn off the water outside, and just took it all apart.  YOu know the rest, a flooded kitchen and a MAD husband because he had to just towel off and to outside and cut off the water.  Needless to say, as long as he was alive, I was forbidden to "plumb".  I could do electrical and plain old hammer work  but NO PLUMBING!!!!  And he meant it.  Since he was 6'2 1/2", I didn't argue with him.  Bless his heart, he put up with a lot from me.  I loved him dearly and no one can ever take his place.
My yard man came and took the fence from my back yard and stacked it by the front drive.  Hope the garbage that comes tomorrow will take it and not wait for FEMA. My life is about back to normal.
I replace a few frozen foods, it proved quite costly and I didn't even "scratch the bucket" in replacing all of it.  :(that is a good ole Texas term)
I am mad at my min pin and she knows it.  She is sitting as close to me just now as she can, hoping I will forget that she ran all over the neighbor hood before coming in after we went out for the paper.  No more outside treat for her.
I made a vow to myself - that I would not buy anything that I didn't need - so far have kept to it.  But it sure is hard.  I love to shop and always see a few dozen things that I "need", but really don't.  After going thru my closet and my sister's, I see how much  I have bought without too much thought.  I do all my sister's shopping too, so she has lots of things she did not need.  We put it all in a box to pass on, but can't find any place that gives instead of sells.  Even the red cross didn't give us a clue.  Maybe the Salvation Army will do.  They do a lot of good, I hear.
Take care all you blogger friends.  I love you!!  Nena

When I was just getting started on my own, there would be things I 'needed' but had to wait for a pay check to buy, like a dust pan, and by the time the money was in hand I had figured out I could use a piece of paper or the electric bill to sweep the dust onto.

I don't do plumbing either. but i will try my hand at just about anything else. what is it with men not wanting to fix their own house, but let a friend call with a problem at his house and off they go.

Your story about plumbing reminded me of the time my Mom wanted to cut a door into a wall in our old house. She got tired of waiting on my Dad to do it, so she just hauled out the circular saw and started cutting. I don't think she ever considered the possibility of there being wires in the walls as well. Someone had the presence of mind to stop her and to this day there is a doorway shaped piece of trim in the wall in that old house. Glad you're feeling better, Nena!
