My family from Germany has been back since Monday. I think they feel so welcome and free here that they keep extending their visit. Ha!! Their step-father must have gotten so grouchy that they don't feel welcome there. So my house and my son -Rachel's father - and his wife and my sister and I have made them welcome.
My car needed some repair, so Rachel took it yesterday - to the dealer. Got up at 6:30 a.m., so she would be first in line to be repaired. Got back here after lunch and $500 and more spent on it. Now, it saves grandma nena from having to do it. I was very appreciative - gave her a "big" bill as thanks.
Later, we went to son John and Jamie's for a little visit. Brian and his two litte ones went in the pool for a swim. It is too cold for everyone else.
Today, they have gone to see another grandmother and will have lunch with friends that one is teaching at Rice Univ.
Then back to grandmas. They offered to wash my car - it hasn't been washed in over a year, but doesn't look dirty yet.
Then they asked up to make a list of things that they can to for us. Now isn't that wonderful? I usually call another gson or my "fixit" lady I found. They are also going to wash the decks and then when they are dry - put a deck saver on it.
I still have ringing ears and feel a bit "dumb". But am enjoying the days. It will be quiet soon enough.
Ya'll have a good day. Nena H
