I'm taking it easy in an effort to help my hip feel better. I'm turning a blind eye to anything and everything that might say "fix me!", or "clean me". Got my vibrating massage pillow and my husband's ipad. Hubby is pretty much waiting on me hand and foot. I know... I have it good. Still, resting can be hard.
Hubby set up MIL's lightly used queen sized bed in the master bedroom so we could finally have a bed that fits us. We had been using the bed in the guest room that FIL left, which is a tad smaller than a double. I like this room cuz it has a big window that faces the private backyard. That means we can leave the curtains open and enjoy looking at yellow, purple, and green sun tinged leaves.
We've been having the most glorious crisp, blue sky days!. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, but only for a day. It rained the entire time I was in Oregon. I'm so used to weather you'd want to ignore that I have to make a conscious effort to look outside and appreciate how nice it is. When I do, it lightens my mind and heart.
We've declared our home to be a 'drama free zone'. That means that if we want to talk about certain stressful situations concerning other family members, we will have to take a drive and do it elsewhere. I must say, we are already reaping the benefits of this. I can feel the tension loosening it's grip.
Our daughter went back to school today, sans crutches. She hasn't called to come home, so that's a good sign. She probably has boys lining up to carry her books. She's got that 'batty eyelash thing' down! Naturally, the school has been rattling our cage about her absenses. Oh well. Less than ten days left of the semester. I think she'll be able to manage to make it through the remainder of the term.
My kitty has not wanted to leave my lap empty since I've been back. She even learned how to open our bedroom door! It's nice to be so loved. Even our more aloof cat has been unusually affectionate. Perhaps he's glad to have a 'full staff' again, lol.
While I was gone, hubby fixed the leaky faucet in the tub. It's nice to not have the constant sound of running water in the background. Makes resting so much more restful!
