Well, after a trip to work to go pick up my power adapter for my laptop, I returned home and was able to work on my class stuff. I swore to myself that I would finish up my syllabus and get the class all ready before relaxing for the evening. I had originally planned to do that two weeks ago, but things didn't work out that way.
I was just in a rut and needed to relax, and I did. I will pay for it a little now as I will feel the extra crunch as I have two weeks less to work on getting aheda with my lectures, but c'est la vie! It was worth it, and I really needed it.
I did contact the students last week with an email to get them some starter information and to send them the questionnaire/survey that I have them fill out so they can get to know each other better since we meet on-line rather than in person for most of the semester. They have been starting to trickle in, and I started posting them to the class.
Well, everything (other than the lectures) are done and up so I am ready. The biggest challenge that I learned is that they updated the software we use to teach online. I used to be able to just pull everyone from my online class roster and import them into the class. Now, I have to do that manually, one by one. The problem is that I need their IDs/screen names to do that. I emailed them today so they could send them to me.
Techincally, I don't have to do that since they would automatically be shifted into the class by the university at some point. I just wanted to bring everyone in because so many wanted to access the syllabus ahead of time.
So, I guess we are off and running!
