My Kraymer...
Kraymer hasn’t been jumping on the bed with us lately... the change all started when he was up all night and restless – and the vet said it was due to him pulling a tendon or something of the sort, and that Kraymer seemed stiff on one side. We put him on anti-inflammatory’s and he did improve. But he still won’t jump up on the bed without a lot of cajoling.
So I thought about glucosamine, which is supposedly good for (older) dogs joints and such. Kraymer is only 6, to me he is still a baby – and really he always will be... anywho, I called the vet to see what he thought about the idea.
The vet called me back and was all about the idea. He said he normally saves the senior wellness talks for dogs over 7, but since Kraymer is a “big boy†(aka larger dog) that he thought Kraymer would benefit from Dasuquin, which is the new and improved Cosequin according to my vet. I am picking it up this evening after work.
I also found a new food called Orijen that has glucosamine in the food, and it’s based on natural ingredients. The boys seem to love love love it! We shall see if Kraymers sensitive tummy takes to it though. I figure perhaps I can switch to the senior food next year. *sigh*
Has anyone here used Dasuquin for their pets or does anyone use Orijen dog food? Any insight would be wonderful.
Have a happy hump day!
