Culling

I was talking to R about how VERY pissed off I was going to be if I started hearing about culling of (AKA MASS MURDER OF) the pig population due to swine flu. R said he didn't think that would happen because it was being transmitted from person to person at this point. I breathed a sigh of relief. Then a friend just send me this

Egypt orders slaughter of all pigs over swine flu

It really brings back memories of when I worked for the gov't and my office always had the TV on all day. It was bird flu news and they showed mass graves dug up in the ground and the POURING of LIVE chickens out of trucks into these mass graves. There were even sights of some of them trying their damnedest to get out of the huge hole and fluttering up, only to be reburied, alive. Can't say they didn't have survival instinct just like we do hey?

I realize that bird flu was a problem, but people get the flu too. If we have sick people who are contagious should we bury them alive too? Seems to make sense by this logic.

I will never understand the wanton lack of regard for ALL life. Never. If the animal is sick and can't be cured, put it out of it's misery HUMANELY.

This whole situation pisses me off beyond belief. People are the ones that cause this shit by keeping animals in unnatural habitats and confinement, then we go and kill the animals for living the way we FORCED them too which is completely against their natural instincts. WTF?

I am infuriated and sad beyond belief. This world really pisses me off. REALLY pisses me off. A lot.
