Progress. Last night I coated it with matte polymer varnish so the paint would flow better. The canvas had a poor Gesso coating when I bought it and I gave it another, but it sucks paint like a sponge. The varnish coat solved that.
Today I worked on the background and trees, and on the shadows, etc. The colors look very dull, and they are at this stage. I paint dark to light. But it is coming along.
