I finished that portrait commission and turned it over to the buyer. He was delighted. It is being framed and he will take it to AZ in a couple weeks, and after that I can post a photo of it. I don't want to reduce the surprise when she sees it.
I am painting today.Up early, I gessoed two canvases that I stretched myself. Then I began two more. The latter two are pre-stretched bought canvases. The first two I stretched in demos for one of my art classes and at the most recent Art Guild meeting.
My cats are pestering me. The three young boys are terrors. I am always shouting "CALM DOWN!" They love to wreck and smash. But I love them.
I was going to PA over this Saturday night but I cancelled it until next month because it looks like snow. Driving to Pittsburgh can be horrid when you have to go just south of Cleveland in the snow belt. Lake effect snows are really heavy and build by inches per hour. I am still a sunny southern California type driver.
My heating bill (wrote the checks for my bills yesterday) was only $115 for January. The electric was nearly the same, due in part to my two electric oil-filled radiators upstairs. I was expecting more. Thankfully, I made it with $85 left over until the end of this month. WHEW! I need to sell a painting, so I'm going back to work.
The photo is Hobster, snoozing his young life away, after trashing something.
