Tiffin has been on national TV news. At least it was where the celebs were speaking. Leading up to Tuesday night's debate in Cleveland, news trucks were spotted here. Somebody did a piece on the town and the plants that have closed and moved to Mexico. Then yesterday Chelsea came to Tiffun University for a rally. She is all over this morning's newspaper. We haven't had so much press since John Dillinger shot up Tiffin back in the early 1930s.
But they have all gone now and we are "safe" again.
The snow keeps coming. Early this week we got 8 inches. Then the next night two or three more. Last night we got about a half inch on top of that. I'm leaving this latest snow on the sidewalks because it makes it easier to walk on the ice that formed under it. Besides, my back hurts from shoveling the wet heavy snow.
The routine each day is to go out and brush enough snow off the car door and driver side window to enable me to get in and start the car without covering the seat with snow. Then while the defrosters work up, I go out with the brush and get all the snow off the Toyota.
I have Rain-X Ice on the windshield so it comes off easily with no frozen particles sticking to it. The back winjdscreen has the electric wires and it melts off right away. You will get ticketed here if there is snow covering any of your car lights, so that's routine to remove.
The hard part is getting the wiper blades "un-stiff." It is so cold (4 F) that I expect they will be hard as metal again. I put new wipers on in December, too.
I see Hobbes has been busy here. There is little I can do about that. I just wish he wouldn't make the keyboard so sticky. And the hair...
