A Minority Of One

Life & Events > Boo ...

Boo ...

Boo on being sick. Seems frequent. For three days I have felt like they dragged a barbed wire through my internal pipes. I think it is the effects of the heavy-duty antibiotic I had been taking. That finished up yesterday, but I still have the trots and it is painful as all-get-out.

I am only eating toast, juice and yogurt, but the yogurt is gone now and I'm unable to attempt a trip to the store for more. I literally can't stand in line - just in case. I took Immodium, but to no avail.

It has rained all day. The cold front isn't far behind. Snow (our first in over 260 days) is just over the horizon.

Maybe I just will avoid food and starve this to death (not me - the malady.)

I vote for Greek yogurt, nutmeg and nanos.

In my experience, yogurt promotes "going" although it has other good effects. Troutbend's suggestion about the nutmeg is interesting and easy to try. Hang in there (if that's the phrase).

Some suggestions: Boil carrots, then puree. Take 1 teaspoon every 15 minutes. Nutmeg: Put a small amount of nutmeg, the size of a dime, in a spoon, and swallow. It will stop diarrhea quickly and is safe for small children. Rice water: boil 1 cup rice in 3 cups water. Drain off the water and cool it before drinking. Eat the rice. I hope there is something here that you have on hand. Good luck.

What about 'hard boiled eggs'? I know that if you eat too many of them (when your tummy is 'normal'), they can give, you constipation, by my thinking, they may have a 'drying up' effect - what do you think?
