A Minority Of One

So It's Another One ...

So it's another Christmas for the books. The cats were delighted and furiously got into their bags. By the time I had taken a dozen or more photos, they were all pretty much catnipped and crazy. One of them managed to spread torn paper into every room. Hobbes was happy that Santa brought so many tiny play mice. Satchel, the elder, played a little then sat back to watch the young ones have their fun. Rosie got a snoot full of nip and began to play in the paper wrappings. Hobbie wanted to join in but Rosie put her ears back and spewed spit at him. I never saw her do that before. Doobie was the craziest. He is a total catnip freak and played for hours. Bunjii didn't want to participate, so I took his bag to him in the kitchen and he took everything out of it.

I took my mother from her care center at 10 in the morning. She opened her presents here first, then we let the cats go at theirs. What a hoot! I drove to a cousin's home a few miles away where we enjoyed a dinner in the early afternoon. My cake was a big hit! Mom got to see some relatives she hadn't seen in thirty years.

Afterward, we went to an uncle's home for a while. Then we went back to Autumnwood and Mom was exhausted. He back wears out quickly.

I came home, took a short nap, picked up the wrapping paper and watched TV. The cats were too tired to play any more.

Bisbee got a new wind-up water globe music box, as in every one of his Christmases. We played it last night up in the bedroom before I turned out the lights. He likes it. It is an angel of many colors with a brass base.

A good Christmas. Lean, but good.

PS: Hobbie already published some of our photos on his blog.

I loved the pictures of the cats and their presents. I think they were pretty high on cat nip. Isn't there a law against getting your cats high? Your Christmas sounds like it was really nice. Glad your cake was liked by everyone. JR and I took Annie dog to my sister's house. She has three cats and they weren't happy to see a dog. But Annie dog was very good and didn't chase any of them. Today, JR and Chance are on their way to Texas to go hunting. What an adventure. They were really excited until the fog in Klamath Falls delayed them for a few hours. That put JR in a bad mood. I just got a call and they are now on the plane and ready to fly. Wish I were going, but someone has to stay here and run the ranch. Why is it always me?????

Love ya dear friend - Annie :o)

You are so LUCKY to be able to take your Mother out and enjoy her.I am crying because my Mother can't walk or eat.She lives in a hospital bed in the living room of her house. The Alzheimer's started 16 years ago and has progressed to this. She has 24/7 care from either me or my sister. Her food comes in cans that we pour in her PEG (stomach tube)to keep her alive. She has some 'moments' where we can have a actual conversation with her. It's been a year that she has been home from the HORRIBLE nursing home.My Dad wants her at home,so we honor his wishes.I did report the nursing home and they were fined and got in some legal trouble. You are a GREAT son and I think you're the greatest. What, no pictures of the kitties?? I wanted to see them playing with their toys. I have four cats but only one is a catnip freak. The others could care less. Sounds like everybody had a great time.

What a happy day, and a memory to treasure.
Love the way you care for your dear Mom....
I still have ribbons all over the floor. Winnie and Pooh are still jumping and pouncing on them and racing around chasing each other. During naps. I keep putting them in the cat toy basket, and they keep pulling them out. Such fun!!
