Wasted

It's probably the result of pushing too hard on Friday. After not sleeping much Thursday night, doing a strenuous workout at the Y early Friday morning, officiating a rather high stress funeral and finishing off with a graveside ceremony in frigid temperatures, I succumbed to a terrible cold. It's been years since I've felt this ill. I've slept and eaten today. That's it. All Day. I've got someone to relieve me tomorrow at church and I'm staying home with Juli who seems to have the same symptoms.
By the way, I'm a recent new fan of the YMCA. What a neat concept.
Well, I got sidetracked, surfed the web a while and just came back to this. I'll write more later.

That was basically their concept from the beginning but with more of an emphasis or religion an leading a clean life.
OMG! In the 70s I had already lived 2 lives!

I appreciate the way they reach out to the community and encourage kids to be their best.

I caught a head cold on Boxing Day and I'm still trying to shake it. Hope you and yours are feeling better.

We are! Feeling much better although we do not sound like it.

I don't think I could ever officiate at a funeral, or get up and speak, for that matter, because I always pick up all the sadness in the room, and even if I don't know the corpse very well; just can't stop crying. The flu was really bad here in Colorado, and an 18 month-old baby died of it. Hope taking it easy for a day shakes it off.

Oklahoma has had 38 deaths this year related to flu. It's unbelievable.

What's the concept of the YMCA??? Has it changed form the 70s?

Best I can tell is that they emphasize healthy living in youth as well as adults and have scholarship programs for underprivileged people. I can see its effect in my community here. I don't know what was going on in the seventies, except that I was being potty trained and learning to write.

I was sick with a cold on Thursday & Friday but my doctor gave me a
pill for my cough and an antibiotic (A new kind) and I started feeling
much better on Saturday. Poor little Julia and poor you.

I've read there have been new breakthroughs in antibiotics lately.
