That's not, however, why I haven't been blogging. I've not been busy, not overwhelmed with things to do, not running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I've been lazy and slothful. (Where'd they hide that blushing smiley?) With Jenn gone to West Virginia for four weeks now, I have no motivation. Looking around me, I see many things to do and just just keep telling myself that I'll do them soon. Isn't that totally pitiful? This isn't like me. Oh, before I forget, let me paste this counter in here.
MySpace Countdowns
Here's to hoping that works.
I hate it when I disappear like I have for the past few weeks. Guess I should post news about what's been going on lately.
Trip to the coast:
We had a convention on the Pacific coast of Mexico in the state of Nayarit. Lots of people went. We filled up two whole tourism buses, being over 100 people. Considering the small size of our organization, that was pretty good! I guess there was a total of about 150 people there, maybe more. Two whole days (Saturday and Sunday) of church services and great seafood! Monday, we all went to a secluded beach to play in the water. Pictures, you say? Nah, don't want to wear out that camera. jk. I always forget to take pictures. I suppose I just like to live in the moment. When I go to where there's water, I get in and stay in and don't come out until it's time to eat. Unfortunately, as we were getting ready to leave, we were informed that there was no more fresh water with which to wash off. How stupid is that? There were a just a few gallons left in a couple of tanks. Fortunately, I was able to get my hands on one of those gallons!
We decorated the church for Christmas:
Despite the fact that it really irritates some people, we decorated the church with green and silver garland, silver bulbs and a few poinsettias. The grouchies can just deal with it. If I had my way, we'd string up lights and wreaths as well. Evidently, some people think that Christmas has its roots in some pagan holiday and that many of the Christmas traditions are at variance with the essence of the gospel. Bah-humbug! To the pure, all things are pure. I have no problem celebrating the birth of Jesus in December. My conscience is clean and I still have yet to kneel before a Christmas tree to worship it, so bug off! (Is that appropriate for a pastor to say?, *snicker*) The old ladies in the congregation just LOVE it! So, I do it for them and me. LOL I've stopped worrying about being here for Christmas, since a lot of the congregation doesn't even agree with celebrating it. They've taken all the fun out of it, so I just go to the US and celebrate in style! Maybe I'll get a pic of the church posted for ya. Hopefully this weekend we can get a pic of the entire congregation for the new 2009 calendar!
OK, well, I've blathered on and on for long enough. Until later, enjoy the holiday season!
Enjoyed all of them.
