Countdown to Vacay

I'm employing the help of the girls in counting down to our get-away in New Mexico next week. We're marking off items in a list of homework, reading and exams I need to finish before we can leave. The Legal Environment of Business Final is Monday at 8:30am. I'm playing the Business Communications class by ear. If I finish before we leave, fine. If not, I'll work on it a little at a time next week while we're away. The final for it closes on Tuesday, July 30th at 11:55pm. In fact, that's the reading I'm doing right now (this little break notwithstanding!).

We loved our visit to New Mexico last year and the girls are super excited about it. We're gonna take it VERY easy for a while. The pressure around here has been unbelievable and it involves situations I can't even begin to describe. Nothing personal, so don't worry about us. We're doing good! I'm fortunate enough to have a wonderful, understanding wife who loves her family as much as I do.

I believe the hotel in the background is where we're staying! High 60's all week long with some good chances for rain. Our idea of a perfect summer vacation!

I'll try to post my pictures next week, but the internet access is limited and I DON'T MIND!

What a beautiful location, and who says you have to ski to enjoy it? Have a lovely time and good luck with your tests.

Sounds wonderful. New Mexico isn't as touristy as Colorado - a mellower place to go, plus it's probably a shorter drive.

It's closer, but we still want to go back to Estes Park soon. Some of our earliest and fondest marriage memories were made there.

My goodness, that hotel is in NM? It's a ski slope. I hope your weather is as nice and cool as projected.

It's a wonderful place and yes, it's a ski resort. We get it at a greatly reduced rate during the summer and it's just as nice.
It hasn't been quite as cool as predicted, but it gets very cool at night.

New Mexico puts one under a spell and you always long to return. Ted's eye turned out well and we are hoping the other one does also. If he can see well enough for a road trip, we are going to New Orleans and enjoy the zydeco and the fabulous French food and the Jazz. We are planning on September.

I enjoyed New Orleans and the delicious food. Have fun and be safe! Good luck on the eye surgery.

I will NEVER forget driving in my convertible from Albuquerque to Santa Fe with the top down at Sunset--moved me to tears!! Beautiful country in NM

Yes, definitely worth the drive.
