OMG We are not even looking for a new house but DH noticed that a house he has always like has come on the market. We decided that we should probably view it. Secretly hoping that the house would be awful and a real disappointment we went along on Saturday to see it. But we didn't find a disappointing excuse for bricks and mortar I think we have found our forever home. This is a real blow though. As our house isn't even on the market and houses where we live just aren't selling. This fact I hope will help as the house we like is only 100m away from us as the crow flies. So hopefully it will remain unsold until we are in a better position to do something about it.
Although on paper this house sounds smaller than ours this is not the case. This house has two big bedrooms...perfect for the kids. A family bathroom bigger than ours (the fact that our bathroom is the size of a decent bedroom I was really surprised by this). A downstairs toilet which is big enough to add a shower cubicle is a real plus too. There are two huge living rooms downstairs. One we would turn into a bedroom until we had the time money or even inclination to turn the massive floored attic into a master suite. The other is bigger than our current lounge and has patio doors leading to the garden - which is also bigger than ours!! The kitchen is large, slightly smaller than our own but with a walk in utility area taht I would shelve and use as a walk in pantry. The hall way downstairs is massive, really light and could be used as a small sitting room if we so wished - I think I would use it as a crafting area as it is so bright and I would be able to hide my craft boxes under the stair. On the upper landing there is also a large walking cupboard which would be great for hiding toys etc for the kids to play with on the landing which is again large enough to be a small reading/ sitting area.
There is of course a mega spanner in the works here though - our house isn't even on the market - I don't even know the proper value of it to know for definate if we could even afford this other house. We are looking into things though but until we know for sure we are looking to the lottery win that we must be in line for!! Failing that some elderly aunt neither of us knowing of croaking it and leaving it a sizable lump sum to us is also another option!!
I can even see where the Christmas tree would go ... that is not good news for me though is it!!
