If only you could see the state of us! LOL Not really as I am soaked through from the rain stotting back up at least a foot from the pavement as I walked home from collecting J from nursery.
I could see this rain was coming - it has been dark all day and I have seen flashes of lightening which were closely followed by loud claps of thunder. Infact these claps of thunder was just a little to soon after the lightening flashes for my likeing. When I was little we were watching a thunder storm then all of a sudden a huge flash came from our phone - the line had been hit! We had no phone for about a week after that it was all frazzled and fried inside.
I got the younger two bundled into the pram and set off for nursery in the hope we would manage to dodge the rain (we had been lucky all week so I guess a soaking was due to us!). Sitting in nursery waiting for J to get his jacket on the heavens opened - rain the size of golf balls was falling. I waited about 10 minutes in the hope that it would pass but it just seemed to be getting heavier. Having made the decision that we couldn't wait forever out we went. Within seconds I was drenched. You get to the point you cannot get any wetter and you stop worrying about trying to stay dry - at least it was warm(ish). We had planned to go to the sweet shop - if we weren't as soaked we probably would have taken a rain check on that but - a Galaxy and 20p mix go along way to making you feel better.
Now that we are home and dry the sun is now shining and the rain is rapidly drying up the patio - before long you will wonder what all the fuss was about. Tell that to my washing machine that is going to have to sort through my soggy things.
