They Deserve a Medal

I am technically a single mum - well for two days that is! DH is away on a course with work which leaves me in soul charge of my little angels for two nights. They seem to work this "you distract her and I'll wreck the place" philosophy! You should see the place, talk about a war zone. No sooner have I tidied up after them in one room they have successfully worked their magic on the next! Just as well I don't have to do it alone all the time I think I would be downing a bottle of wine a night just to numb the pain from the stress of chasing after three kids day in day out on my own.

I guess if it had to be done you would have routine of getting things done and the kids wouldn't play up the same because just being you and the kids would be the way it is and so there is no change of situation to play up to. It has to be tough when there is no-one at the end of the day to say "that was a fcukin' nightmare today!"

I am trying to prepare tea - pasta their favourite - in thje hope that they will actually eat something. I am also hoping the fact that they have been tearing round the place like a couple of loonies for the past hour will mean that they will go to bed early - L didn't go to sleep till 11pm last night. Ok, admittedly he had a snooze in the afternoon which always throws him. By the way my head is pounding now there is noway I could handle another near midnighter.

Off to get them fed and tidy up whilst they are eating - or should I say try to tidy up!
