For Nittineedles

one recipe for fondant icing there are lots of different recipes but this is the one i have used in the past enjoy


Kneaded Fondant Icing

450 g (1 lb) icing sugar
1 medium egg white
50 g (2 oz) liquid glucose
colouring and flavoring

For rolling: icing sugar

1 Sieve the icing sugar into a bowl and make a well in the centre. Add the egg white and glucose.

2 Knead well until fondant is smooth. Add colouring and flavouring as desired.

3 Roll out on a board dusted with icing sugar.
Lift onto cake and smooth down sides. Trim off level with base of cake.

Liquid glucose can be purchased from a good chemist.


the icing should be like dough if it is to wet add more icing sugar.

I know this is an older post, but I found a recipe for fondant that is SSSOOOOO easy, uses marshmallows. AND it tastes good!
