Here every year the third Tuesday of September its the start of a new political year.
As some of you know we have here a so called "constitutional monarchy". Our Queen is head of the government but our prime minister is political responsible for her acting. So actually its a representative function our queen has. I must admit she is very intelligent and knows a lot about all kind of subjects.

This third Tuesday the Queen reads towards the parliament the "queen's speech". In that speech she tells about the intentions the government has for the next year.
Also on this Tuesday the budget proposal for the next year is presented.
It all is a lot of tradition this day (All women wear hats, the golden coach which is used by the queen for the transport from palace to house of parliament).

Here we have a multi-party system. Each political party has one or more chairs in the parliament (150 seats in total). After elections some party's agree with each other to form the government. So now we have a government formed by socialists, conservatives and 1 christian party.
Big topic always is the budget proposal. There will be extra burden on citizens to make our social security " payable" in the future when there will be a lot of "older" and so more expensive citizens.
A lot of money is reserved for safety. Our social security system is an expensive one and the government wants the budgetary deficit to bend into a little surplus to make savings for the expensive future. I can feel that way too, I am against enormous budget deficits. It's true lesser young people need to pay for more and more older people.
My topic "education" was lesser then I expected. Because of far too less teachers I expected more money for education but...... not this year.
I look forward to the political debates which will start today.
