Removing Removing Removing ... ...

Time to write again I must admit.
You cant imagine the mess in our house. We are busy with all kind of things to let the rebuilding/expansion start smoothly. Next Thursday it all will begin.
Final things that had to be done this weekend were: removing our old wooden floor, removing final parts of old wallpaper and removing final part of terrace.

Last Friday my son called me at work asking how to remove the floor. It felt good they would start with it without even asking. I had planned to go home early because the electrician was coming to discuss a lot of things. When he left we knew we ordered more then we expected to do, so will cost more then planned too. Rebuilding the network for all our pc's cost quite some amount. We want to keep it wired cause of the loss of speed wireless.
When the floor was removed we had our old fashioned cork floor back. We will live on it for the next 2 months I guess.
Later Friday night I was waiting for a chat with Bruno. We still talk quite a lot daily, he is a great person to talk with knowing our mutual difficulties. It feels good to have someone to discuss them. We still are aware of the possibilities and impossibilities of our contacts, be sure of that. I just want to tell we care about eachother a lot. Feelings always are difficult, specially when you know that there is more then just friendship. You cant switch a button to get them away (and we don't want that either). He had a difficult week because his gf went to England. He missed her a lot, and I hope I could support him a bit. We have our daily chats and I always looking forward to them.
While waiting I noticed Dale was online. I said Hi and totally unexpected he invited me to watch his cam. He was at work and told me he doesn't like doing much on Friday, so ...
Felt good seeing him on cam and we just talked a bit.
Saturday a part of the fence needed to be removed. Thx to the neighbor that was done quite quick. Our back-garden looks like a sandy building place already.
Saturday night we all went to the theatre to see my wife. She sings in a choir and they celebrated their 40th anniversary . Theme was: "the seasons" and they stood still at every season and sang songs (known and unknown ones) regarding that season. Like a great version of "California dreaming" but also the famous "autumn leaves". Of course a lot of Dutch songs as well. It really was a succes!

Sunday again some removing of wallpaper. Finishing removing the terrace and clean up a bit.
Late that night I chatted a lot cause of the 3th anniversary of our chatroom.

Will keep you informed!

Living in a construction zone is always a challenge, but think about how much you won't mind once you have the new kitchen! It will be great.

Surprised you found time to write. I enjoy reading about life in Holland. I hope the California Dreamin' song wasn't the Mamas and Papas version. The flute part is so flat, it hurts my ears.

You sound like my friend John--he just bought a new place and is busy tearing down ceilings, painting, knocking down walls, etc. He hopes to move in by December and I told him that's only 2 weeks away!

I always can't get over how much mess one must make in order to make things better. In order to have things nicer or to correct some things, things have to be torn up, torn down, and all sorts of things, making it necessary to live and deal with a mess when all anybody wants is the opposite. Good luck to you with this major project...I know it'll be a big job and a big expense, but it sounds like it will be wonderful after it's all finished.
