For we had to start working again we wanted to spent last Saturday in Amsterdam centre. We had read about the so-called "9-street" part of our town (and never already visited it). There are just 9 very nice streets between the canals in the beautiful centre of our city. Every streets contains a lot of nice little shops from jewellery to games. Some art-shops and a lot of nice coffee-shops and places to have lunch.
The weather was nice so we really enjoyed. We stayed quite some time in a shop where they sell all kind of games. A lot of games I had never heard of but were very interesting. But also games like World of Warcraft and Magic, the gathering were for sale there. They were specialised in all kind of puzzle games. From Rubic's cube till a kind of Magic ball which you only can open with a special code. I really enjoyed the shop.
We had a nice lunch and after that we bought some clothing ( always necessary lol). We wanted to see a movie as well and we decided to go to "The Black night". I usually am not a big Batman fan, but I must admit I liked the movie ( sorry Martin you didn't liked it at all). Heath Ledger did a great job btw playing the Joker.
The movie kept us busy for more then 2.5 hour and after that we decided to take a drink on a terrace, just watching people passing by. Always a great thing to do specially in a town like Amsterdam.
Afterwards we went out for dinner and that was a nice end of just a day out.
Last Sunday my eldest son had his birthday. Its already been 25 years ago since he was born and that makes me feel old a bit. Because he was in "training-camp" for the soccer club he is playing in we didn't celebrate it so far but we will do that next Saturday.
Then the Monday came. First time to go to school again. I never like those "first days". Everybody asking "How was your holiday?" and so is , for me, a bit boring. Its always difficult to describe your holidays. They are just experiences which are not easy to share with others.
Because it was our first day at school again, my colleague and I planned a lunch outside with the management-assistants. A nice start of the year I must admit and so it was a nice day to start the Schoolyear.
Students will arrive next week again so we have some time for preparations............
