Friends (if I may call you that way lol) finally some words from me again (if you like it or not lol). I was on holidays and went to the UK for 8 days. Wasnt able to read all your posts but tried to read a lot of them and noticed I missed a lot of interesting posts both on MyBloggers and Blogster. I had unsubscribed on MyBloggers but forgot to do that on blogster and that caused many many notifications...... I couldn't resist to open them all quick but, when u know me, that also means some posts I just needed to read as well. Well, that cost me half a day.
I must admit that James posted some posts that really "touched" me (on blogster). Specially all the comments he received from the "narrow-thinkers" felt a bit heavy now and then. They call themselves "Christians" but they act different I must admit. A lot of bashing and screaming again.
I myself had really pleasant days in Yorkshire, a very nice area in England. A really beautiful region with all kinds of different views. There were hills, meadows, moors and woods.
It all started Monday the 28th of April. We travelled to Leeds (by plane) where I had rent a car. That also was the first problem. As you might know in England they drive on the left side of the road. Because I was not with my own car I drove an English one, but that means the steering wheel on the right side and the gear on my left. A complete new experience. You get used to it after several days but in the beginning..... I even entered the car on the left side as i was used several times to conclude that there wasnt a steering wheel on that side...
We took our navigation from home (tomtom) and that made driving a bit easier as well.
The hotel we booked was easy to find and round noon we were settled and ready to visit the town. Pity the weather was so typical British: rain rain rain..
Leeds isn't the most nice town to visit. We noticed a lot of poverty in a grey sad town (also caused by the rain). There were several nice malls and arcades to visit with a lot of shops but that wasnt able to take away our sad feeling about the town. At tourist information we had bought a city-walk-tour to see the most interesting points of the town so we saw the most famous places. There wasnt a nice museum or something like that we wanted to visit, pity but true. We did had a nice dinner in a nice Italian restaurant (that is for Martin) and we left for our hotel round nine again. An early sleep felt good cause in England the are 1 hour behind from Holland. And, after last weeks of hard working I could use some sleep as well. Breakfast was served between 7 and 8 am so that also was a reason to sleep early.
To be continued....
