Good Saturday, Blog Pals:
Had an appointment with Dr. Tightass on Thursday. It is always a thrill to go there and learn things I already know. In addition to being one of the most dour people I've ever met, he bears a reselmblence to comedian Martin Short so every time I go there, I think of Fronk, the Wedding Planner in the Steve Martin movie "Father of the Bride" and have to choke back the giggles.
Dr. Tightass: "Meses Boog, yer hoff terr mooch swilling in yer onkles and fett. Yer heff ter teck mar flerid pells ter got der flerid oot."
Me: " But Doctor, I practically live in the bathroom now."
Dr. Tightass: "Wall, eff ve den't got der flerid oot, yer well hoff hort fulier und ve den't won hort fulier now der we?"
Me: "I 'aspose not".
So then I go to the lab for more blood tests then when I go to the checkout, they start hounding me for the co-pay, about $85. Since, I inform them, I've only got about $8 in pennies until the 3rd would they kindly wait and they aquiesed with some sighing and "Jesus, what a deadbeat" looks. This conversation took place in full earshot of everyone else in the waiting room. How embarrasing. Now all of Cow Snot is gonna know my dire financial straits. Isn't this stuff a'sposed to be confidential? But I didn't make an issue of it. I've learned over the years that you have to pick your fights and this just wasn't worth it. I would switch doctors but this one is convenient to Shady Pines and the city transit bus goes right there. Dr. Tightass does seem thorough and conscienious despite his lack of personallity of any kind. And that's the important thing, really. Better to have a dull competent physician than an amusing personable quack, right?
Today the babies(Daisy May and Jethro) are having a program at their day care so Jethrene asked if I wanted to come. Of course I jumped at the chance and she's picking me up later. It should be fun. I don't know what part the kids are playing in this hootnanny but it should be cute. I'll let ya know.
