Good Monday, Blog Pals:
A quiet week and weekend for a change. Well, relatively quiet. Well, for a few hours. My neighbors have not been observed moving anything else out. However, herself was observed driving the daughter's SUV. I didn't even know she could drive. She had the vehicle overnight Friday but nothing untoward was observed. Does it strike anyone that I have waaaaay too much time on my hands?
So, anyway Saturday night between 10:30 and 11 pm(yes,PM) a huge moving truck pulls up in front of the building, right below my window situated two stories above. They begin hauling stuff into the building for some new tenants that have moved in about three doors down from me. Now, this is 11pm. This is a building full of the old and infirm who retire early. I had just turned in and was drifting off to sleep(after several sleepless nights, I might add) when the cacophany errupts. How inconciderate can people get. Although I must say I am not surprised, having met the wife of the couple who is a cranky old bitch. On top of everything else this huge truck was parked in the emergency zone where the ambulances have to come. What if someone had a heart attack while these assholes were unloading their Hummel figurines, souverner shot glasses from the 48 contiguous states , and endless pictures of bratty grandchildren. One would imagine that these items could have waited until a more reasonable hour the next day. But then I guess I underestimate the lifesaving and therapeutic value of a complete set of Grand Ol' Opry commemorative plates featuring Minney Pearl.
I did manage to get some much needed sleep last night. I think it was because I stayed home yesterday and did not make my usual Sunday pilgrimage to brother Bubba's house and its subsequent argument with Crazy Sis about one thing or another. I think I should spend more time away from there but I'd miss the kids too much. I'll just try and sneek over when she's not there. Holidays should be interesting this year.
On the bright side we are having a terrific fall here in Cow Snot. We are getting nice color on the trees and warm temps in the day and crisp nights. It makes me miss the Flower City by the Lake so much. Ah, well....I need to go get some ice cream.
Have a good week, everyone.
