Any Given Sunday

Howdy, MyBloggerstown:
Well, I finally got my Christmas tree up. It looks ok, I guess. I've never been one to decorate trees well. I have all the tinsel in a big glop on one side and the lights are all on the other. Ah, well.  It's the thought that counts, right?  I went to TackyStores (ya know the one where everything's like $2) and got myself a plastic Charlie Brown tree. It sits here on the table in front of me and you can see it outside from the window.  The tree in the downstairs lobby looks great. I had nothing to do with that one.
The weather here in Cow Snot has turned nasty. It is bitter cold and snowy. Temps are not 'asposed to get out of single digits today. And I'm not even gonna think about the wind chill factor. Fortunately, my apartment is snug and I am cozy.  I am strategically located so that what sun there is shines right in here.  Its hot as hell in the summer but its warm now. Hardly ever have to have the heat on which is good for my utility bill.  This cold snap is 'asposed to last until Thursday or so. Brrr.
We visited the Assisted Living establishment, Passing Winds, on Wednesday with Mama.  What a nice place(for almost $4000 a month it  oughta be). They wait on their "guests" hand and foot. They cook her meals, clean her place, even do her laundry.  They take her anywhere she wants to go with their own fleet of vehicles and have a wide range of activities from movies, to bingo, to field trips across the state line to purchase lotto tickets. All this impressed Mama, but she is still reluctant.  She still views it as a nursing home and still thinks we are trying to put her away.  I think that once she gets there, sees the true nature of the facility, and begins to socialize and make new friends, she will blossom and be as happy as she was back in West By God. At least that is our fervent hope.
I got started on my Christmas card list. Got about 1/4 of the way through and decided to take a break.  I need to go to the post office and get some festive holiday stamps.  I have all my gifts bought. Most of them I got on line and hopefully they were get here on time and unscathed.  I did have to go to Wally World for a coupla things. Jeez, what a nut house that place is.  Every mistake of nature that lives in the greater Cow Snot metropolitan area was in that store.  It was painful, but I survived and have every intention of not setting foot in that loony bin until after the holidays are over.
So, I guess that's all that's going on here in the wild and wooly west.
      Have a good week, everyone.
