Good Thursday, Blog Pals:
    Well, I think I have everything done that I needed to do to get ready for Christmas. My tree is up, my greeting cards have all been sent, and I am feeling like my broncitis is threatening. Yep, that's how I can tell it's the holiday season. Christmas Eve will be spent over at Bubba and Suffering's house. Jethrene and her kids are spending the night so "Santa" won't have to make an extra stop. I'll be spending the night as well so I'll no doubt wake up Christmas morning with a lapfull of kids and dogs as Reagan has to be where the kids are at all times. She is so good natured with those kids. I've seen them lie on her, tug her arms, pinch her ears, and pull what's left of her tail and she just lies there and takes it without so much as a growl or a whine. The kids aren't being mean, they truely love Reagan dearly, its just that little kids don't always show the tenderest of affections. Daisy May, niece Jethrene's 5 year old, has a tendency to kiss Reagan on the lips. I try to disuade her from this practice.
Me: "Don't kiss that dog on the lips. She drinks outa puddles, eats dirt, and licks her own butt."
Daisy: "But I love Reagan"
Me: "Well, then kiss her on the head. Jeez."
    Speaking of the children, they all had Christmas Programs yesterday which were very cute. I have always enjoyed these events. It makes me harken back to when their parents were small and the world and I were a whole lot younger. Jethrene's accounting firm held a big party complete with tons of food and Old Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus handing out presents the company bought all the children of its employees. They even had a guy who did a puppet show. It was all very nice and the pigs-in-a-blanket were delish. Jethrene is doing very well at this job. She's gotten several raises, bonuses and there is talk of a promotion. We are all very proud of her.
    Plans to move Mama into Passing Winds continue. She seems pretty much resolved to it and I try to put a positive spin on the deal whenever I can. I have volunteered to provide her phone service. It'll be a stretch what with Cow Snot Senior Housing uping my rent astronomically but if I seriously economise, I think I can swing it. Many(two) of my friends think I am being a door mat and a grade A sucker. They wonder why I should do anything for Mama who bears little if any affection for me and has pretty much crapped on me all my life. The answer is simple: she's the only mother I have ever known even if she has been a piss poor one. 'Nuff sed.
So, we await the most wonderful time of the year and a visit from the Jolly Old Elf.
