Good Sunday Evening, MyBloggerstown:
       Found a copy of the health care legislation currently being squabbled over in Stupid Crookville...I mean Congress and decided to try and read it so that when I said it was utter crap, I'd know what I was talking about...unlike many of our elected representatives. Sheesh what a bunch of gobbltey gook. Now I am a relatively educated, informed, erudite individual but I had to read each section numberous times and still didn't come away with much of an unnerstanding about it. Why does it have to be so complicated? So, in order to rebuke this monumental waste of effort and to lay some groundwork for my eventual run for the White House in "aught 12" here for your advice and consent is the Bugg Health Care Reform Plan:
    Simply, you shop around for coverage at all the various private insurers, pick a plan that suits yer needs and the gub'ment pays the premium. This fosters healthy competition amoungst insurance companies who will be salivating for all those federal dollars. Insurance companies will be forbidden to cancel insurance due to grave, expensive illnesses, or refuse you do to age or "pre-existing conditions." They have to provide 100% coverage for all medical needs, hospital, doctor, clinic, prescription drugs, whatever you and yer doctor deem is necessary.  No gub'ment "committees" or "advisary boards" to decide wheather or not yer 80 year old granny gets a life saving bypass. There would be a procedure in place to root out fraud and abuse such as is rife in the current Medicare/Medicaid system because let's face it, there are greedy bastids in the health care industry just like everywhere else. Â
    Now how, you may ask, are we going to pay for all of this? Well, in the first place, we throw all the drunks, drug addicts and head cases off Disability. If you have a non-physical condition that you can do something about, then you don't need to be laying around sucking off the public tit and letting John Q. Public support your habit. Then we drasically reduce foreign aide. Why should we give billions to countries who, (1) hate our Yankee Doodle guts and are plotting to blow us up at every opportunity, and (2) use it to support oppressive regimes, tin pot dictators, and genocidal warlords in style whilst the ordinary Joe, Jose, Mohamed, Ivan, Sven, Maria, Svetlana, Mombassa, and Chang and their children have to rummage through toxic dumps daily for food. Another thing we can do is end all gub'ment subsidies for illegal aliens. No more food stamps, welfare, medical care(unless its a life or death emergency) for those who are undocumented.  Then, we go through each department of the gub'ment and require that they reduce their operating budgets by 1%. Now that doesn't sound like a lot but it adds up. In addition, we go through each agency with a fine tooth comb and weed out waste, fraud and abuse. If we do all these things we should be able to afford decent health care for all our citizens without the dreaded "socalized medicine" invoked by the right wing nut jobs or the budget busting waste that the left wing pantywaists want.
    But first and formost, we've got to get our economy back on a paying basis. And we do that with jobs. Jobs, jobs and mo' jobs. That's the whole magilla, folks . People have to go to work, then they make money to pay their mortgages, buy new cars, washing machines, wide screen tvs etc. Taxes are collected and services such as police and fire protection, garbage pickup and mail service get back on track. America can do this...we have 300 million peope, fer God's sake. Surely, there are some who are smart enough to figure out and impliment a solution for our current woes. (there is and don't call me "Shirley" hee hee) I had such hopes for President Jugears but I am beginning to wonder.  At least he needs to shit can some of those advisers, aides, and "czars" and start afresh.
