Good Really Early Morn, MyBloggerstown:
Not sleeping yet again for some reason. Could be because I kept falling asleep during a movie last night. As usual, it was a film I really wanted to watch. Ah, well.
Well, Mama and Crazy Sis hit the dusty trail tomorrow, thank the Lord. Everyone loves them, but are glad they are heading home. They are so trying and tiring. Mama came over the other night and spent the night. She said she wanted to get a decent night's sleep without noisy kids and pets running about. What could I say? Well, we just went wild and spent an exciting evening eating Domino's Pizza and watching Lawrence Welk. I'm surprized we both didn't have coronaries.
Mama: "I just love that Myron Floren. He's sooo good looking"
Me: "zzzzzzzz"
Ever the gracious hostess, I let her have the bed and I took the couch. The next morning, with my back a total disaster area, I made her a lovely bacon and egg breakfast.
Me: "Did you sleep well?
Mama: "Not really. The matress was lumpy. I need a firm matress for my back. (she sleeps on a roll-away bed over at Bubba's). And the planes kept flying over and waking me up"
Me: "Well, next time I'll call the airport and have them change their flight paterns."
Mama: "Do you always have to be such a smarty pants?"
Me (changing subject): "So how's your breakfast?"
Mama: " Hmm...the bacon could be a little crisper. Don't you have anything but instant coffee?"
Me: (sigh)
Mama: "You know, Bubba's wife is an excellent cook."
Me: "Yeah, well......"
Mama: "You gonna eat the rest of your bacon?"
I don't know what it is but every time I spend any time with that woman, I end up feeling like hanging myself. I have to work on not letting her attitudes bother me so much. Fornunately, after tomorrow she'll be almost an entire contentent away.
